Ideal Entertainment is an international leader in content creation and distribution in the film and music industries.
Founded in January 2016, Ideal Entertainment (IE) is a Canadian venture inspired by the unique bond between internationally acclaimed music composer A.R. Rahman, and the visionary behind the Ideal Group of companies, Shaji Nada.
IE partners with leaders in innovative technology and the most iconic brands and personalities in film and music, from around the world, to bring audiences distinctive experiences. Some of the exciting initiatives currently underway include a distribution platform for film and music products to reach wider audiences, annual film and music festivals and a digital content creation strategy to ensure artistic talent is met with platforms that elevate it to its fullest potential.
IE’s first two projects involve jointly producing A.R. Rahman’s directorial debuts LeMusk and 99 Songs alongside Rahman’s production house, YM Movies. LeMusk is an English language musically immersive virtual reality movie, supported by a combination of sensory experiences, to take viewers to places they have never been before. 99 Songs is a feature-length, Hindi language, romantic musical which was also written by Rahman, and is currently in post-production
When asked by Nada why he chose to collaborate with Ideal Entertainment in a candid interview, Rahman said the following: “We felt that you are from Canada, and so you understand the sensibilities of what we are trying to reach. And you have worked hard and come up in life, so you value hard work”.
